The new top-of-the-range ESPRIT EDX series from Sky-Watcher, featuring 3-element ED apochromatic optics, offers premium instruments of the highest quality with impressive performance that is comparable even to high-end telescopes.
Optics
The new Sky-Watcher ESPRIT-70EDX model is particularly compact but equipped with full performance. It features an exceptional f/7 optical system with a premium lens made from Japanese Hoya FCD100 ED glass.
With a 70 mm aperture and 490 mm focal length, it is particularly well suited for large celestial objects and extensive nebulae. At the same time, it is compact enough for any holiday trip or a trip to see a solar eclipse.
Coating
Each glass-air surface has been coated with a special anti-reflective metal coating to achieve maximum light transmission of 99.5%. Sky-Watcher's proprietary ‘Metallic High-Transmission Coating’ (MHTC) is the highest quality anti-reflective coating in its class!
Features
The ESPRIT-70EDX has a rotatable adapter on the focuser tube to help you frame your image. It is also equipped with a carrying handle for easy handling. The CNC-machined rack-and-pinion focuser with fine reduction is extremely stable, backlash-free and offers a high payload. It is equipped with a 2.8" focuser tube including scale.
The telescope comes in a sturdy case with an aluminium frame and hard foam lining.
A matching 0.92x focal reducer/flattener (OV#20332) is available as an option for photography.
Please note that the telescope is supplied without eyepieces, zenith mirror/prism and viewfinder.
