Sometimes there are situations where you need to pull the eyepiece or camera out of the socket by a few millimetres and clamp it in place.

For eyepieces with a combined 1.25"+2" sleeve and for long Barlow lenses (i.e. almost all of them), a Sopring is used to protect the zenith prism/mirror so that they are not touched or scratched.

To avoid having to repeat this process every time, adjustment/stop rings are used for precise fixing.
