With our Astrogarten Sonnensucher S50, you can safely locate the sun when the Seestar automatic system isn’t working properly – for example, if it’s tilted, there are light clouds, etc.
Instructions for use – !!! I M P O R T A N T !!!
- Open the Seestar S50 arm
- Then attach our Astrogarten Sun Finder S50 to the Seestar S50
- Fit the sun filter onto our viewfinder mount
- Only now should you automatically align your Seestar S50 with the sun
- Before lowering your Seestar S50, turn it away from the sun (or stand completely in front of it) and remove both parts again.
- Only then should you lower the Seestar (otherwise the arm may damage the assembly).
The alignment method is relatively simple – in fact, even simpler than the ‘shadow method’ – as you simply align your Seestar S50 with the sun whilst looking only at the white circle (the shadow method serves as a preliminary adjustment/alignment).
Once the sun is correctly aligned, you will see it as a bright dot in the centre of the white area.
The sun should now be visible in your Seestar app.
Now draw a black dot on the white area so that you can always find the sun again.
The difference – 100% eye safety
Our Astrogarten solar viewfinders stand out thanks to a key safety feature – designed to protect your eyes 100 per cent – because you look AWAY FROM(!) the sun into our Astrogarten S50 solar viewfinder and never(!) look through it from behind, as you would with a standard telescope or other unsafe solar viewfinders! This inevitably leads you to look directly at the sun and suffer eye damage.
That’s not the case with us – we offer nothing but 100% eye safety!
Safety warning
The Sun must only be observed with adequate protective measures (e.g. solar filters), as you could otherwise lose your eyesight in a fraction of a second! Please also ensure, for all cameras, that you do NOT have an additional optical viewfinder, as this would cause immediate eye damage. Please also ensure that your Seestar is always protected by a sun filter; otherwise, you will immediately damage the built-in camera.
