Since 2000 we have been a specialist retailer for astronomy and nature observation: telescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes and accessories – from a child's first telescope to equipment for universities and research institutes.

Our customers range from children, pupils and students to amateur astronomers and nature lovers, as well as schools, universities and research organisations. Every one of them receives expert, independent advice based on our own observing experience – honest advice, including about what an instrument cannot do.

Hand-picked rather than a complete catalogue: we do not simply stock everything a brand offers, only the products whose quality has convinced us. If something does not meet our standards, we do not sell it – so you can rely on every instrument in our shop.

Important: shipping currently within Germany only

Since 12 August 2026 the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) requires an authorised representative in every destination country – with no minimum quantity and no exemptions. For a specialist retailer this would mean several hundred euros per country, even for a single parcel. We have therefore had to suspend shipping to other EU countries for the time being and hope the European Commission will amend the regulation soon. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Why? As a specialist retailer we save payment fees this way, which we would rather invest in our range and our advice. You can of course also pay by PayPal or in cash on collection. The discount does not apply to the bargain list.

Whether it is a school telescope, solar observing for lessons or specialist optics for the laboratory or observatory: we advise educational and research institutions individually and are happy to prepare a quotation – including for items not listed in the shop.

As of July 1, 2021: Delivery in EU countries with the respective value added tax

Dear customer

In the course of the so-called VAT Digital Pact, VAT law will be reformed on July 1, 2021 in the EU. Until now, the so-called "mail order regulation" applied to cross-border online trade with consumers in the EU. According to this, the VAT-rate of the seller's country is generally applied, unless a certain turnover threshold is exceeded in the calendar year. If this turnover threshold is exceeded, the goods must be taxed at the rate applicable in the respective EU country to be supplied. In order to simplify cross-border deliveries and the bureaucratic effort, a so-called "One-Stop-Shop Procedure" (OSSV) has been established. The OSSV eliminates the obligation to file local tax returns in other EU member states. Accordingly, the "mail order regulation" will no longer apply as of July 1, 2021, provided that the company based in Germany registers for the OSSV.

We have decided to apply the "one-stop store procedure" as of July 1, 2021 and will charge cross-border deliveries of goods to end consumers at the VAT rate applicable in the respective country. This means that from July 1, 2021, we will process all orders from EU countries with the local VAT in the receivers country.
